LOCATION: Thies,Senegal with up to 20% travel within Senegal
COMPENSATION: Gross salary + benefits: 18,079,202CFA to 19,704,506 CFA/annum.
TheCCHC works under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Training and StaffDevelopment (DDTSD). S/he coordinates closely with the Language Coordinator(LC) for aspects of his/her work related to cross-cultural training and withthe Food Security Coordinator (FSC) for aspects of his/her work related toGender and Development (GAD) and Youth Positive Development (YPD). The CCHC hasoverall responsibility for all aspects of Trainee and Volunteer cross-culturaltraining as well as for homestays during pre-service training. In addition,the CCHC provides support to staff and Volunteers inregards to Gender and Development (GAD) and Youth Positive Development approachand coordinates the implementation of GAD action plans. Responsibilities ofthis position include:
Pre-Serviceand In-service Training: Design, sequence, and implementlearning activities for pre-service and in-service training events pertainingto the following topics: a) Senegal-specific cross-cultural knowledge andissues; b) gender and development; c) personal support of training needs forTrainees and Volunteers.
TrainingDesign and Integration: Conduct pre-training research andcollaborate with PC Senegal training team to develop training competencies,assessments, and learning activities for adults. Work with technical teams toplan activities that integrate cross-culture and gender into other trainingcomponents.
Trainingof Trainers: Train, mentor, and monitor training staff (LCF,PTS, etc.) in cross-cultural and gender and development sessions.
HomestayCoordination: The CCHC is responsible for identifying acceptableand safe housing for Trainees in
Senegalesehomes in the region.
Genderactivities coordination: The CCHC contributes to thedevelopment and implementation of PC/S’s Gender and
YouthStrategy and Action Plan, under the leadership of the Food Security Coordinatorand in coordination with
Volunteersand other staff
Able to work effectively in English andFrench (Level 3 or above)
Fluency in oneor more national languages of Senegal
Experience: 3-5years of experience and demonstrated capacity in:
Developing, implementing, and/or supervisingcross-cultural training programs for diverse adult groups.
Developing, implementing, and/or supervisingcommunity-based programs with rural and urban non-literate communities.
Developing, implementing, and supporting women’s andgirls’ empowerment activities and training in the Senegalese/West Africancultural context. This may include community-based experience, working with menas partners in gender equity, gender analysis, or gender mainstreaming
