POSITION STATUS: Full time (40 hours per week)/localhire
LOCATION: Dakar, Senegalwith up to 10% travel within Senegal
COMPENSATION: Gross salary+ benefits: 10,676,415 CFA to 11,657,941 CFA/annum.
The United StatesPeace Corps in Senegal seeks a highly qualified individual to fill the positionof Principal Cashier based at thePeace Corps office in Dakar, Senegal. S/He reports to the Director ofManagement & Operations. The incumbent will be responsible foraccountability, examination, safekeeping, replenishment and processing of allcash disbursements and collections. Thisis a multi-functional position requiring a high degree of energy, flexibilityand self-direction. Due to the myriad of duties required, the Cashier willneed an inborn sense of prioritization, customer service orientation, planning,and attention to detail.
Education: A Bachelor degreein finance, accounting or related field.
Up to three yearsof practical experience managing cash, providing administrative or customerservice support.
Ability to read, write and speak bothFrench and English fluently (F4 level).
Proficiency inspeaking and writing in one or more national languages of Senegal;
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook is required;
Understanding of Senegalese and American cultures;
Enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues from multiculturalbackgrounds
Attention todetail, and ability to multi-task, and to work in a fast-paced workenvironment;
PC Office dailycashiering
Performs dailycash counts.
Prepares cashpayments, disbursements and collections in CFA and US dollars
Review and closesBVs, requests cash replenishments. Prepares vouchers to send to HQ
Processes interim/sub-cashieradvances and ensure reconciliation.
Maintainsup-to-date cashier’s statement of accountability worksheet
Maintainsup-to-date knowledge of the applicable Peace Corps manual
Withdraws cashfrom the bank. Performs sub-cashier account reconciliation every month.
Assist withopening of PCV bank accounts.
Follows up with bankon PCV bank and Principal PC account issues.
Covers MSIC(Medical Supplies Inventory Clerk) and Purchase and Travel card transactionsduring the absence of the Financial Assistant,
