The United States Peace Corps in Senegal seeks for qualified individuals to fill the position of Volunteer Liaison (VL). This is a local position based at the Peace Corps Office in Dakar, Senegal. Under the supervision of the Director of Management and Operations (DMO) and in close coordination with Programming and Training, Medical, and other administrative staff; the volunteer liaison is the primary point of contact for volunteer and trainees on administrative and financial matters.
Interested candidates must hold the following required qualifications:
Education: Four year university degree (BAC+4) in administration and Finance or related field.
Work Experience: the candidate must have a minimum of three years practical experience in administrative and financial management. Previous experience with an international organisation is highly desirable, as is experience in customer service.
Languages: Ability to read, write and speak French and English fluently (level 4) is required. Knowledge of at least one local language is an advantage but not required.
Cross-cultural sensitivity: at least one year of experience working in a multi cultural setting.
Computer: strong computer skills.
Skills and abilities:
Strong analytical and organisational skills;
Willingness to receive on the job training in Peace Corps’ philosophy, policies, procedures and regulations with an overall emphasis on understanding fully the role and mission of Peace Corps in Senegal,
Attention to detail;
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency;
Demonstrated ability to maintain a healthy, productive team focus and spirit with all colleagues and contacts;
Adaptable to changing situation and self motivated;
Highest level of initiative, political sensitivity, versatility, judgement and discretion.
